ECONOMETRICS I

Objectives and learning outcomes of the course unit:
The goal of this course is to teach students how to use econometric methods to quantify economic relations. This course provides to the students an introduction to basic econometric methods. These are the tools of data analysis that economists and other social scientists use to estimate economic and social relationships, and to test hypotheses about them, using real world data.

Course contents:
Content of the course are basic knowledge and skills of econometric modeling. Subject includes construction, verification and quantification of basic single equation as well as multiple equation models. Attention is devoted to the problem of autocorrelation, heteroscedasticity and multicollinearity. From the application point of view will be constructed models for micro and macro level, models with categorial explanatory variables, probit and logit models. Within this subjects is used Excel and SAS software.
