Counselling Service

The FEM Counselling Service offers confidential help with any personal issues affecting work, self-esteem, relationships, mental health and general well-being. No problem is too small and getting help early can save stress and further problems later on. Counselling can provide a valuable opportunity to work on personal issues in a confidential setting with someone independent. The Counselling Service is freely available to all SUA students and staff.

Expect from us

• We will treat you fairly with dignity, courtesy and respect;
• Our staff will deal with your enquiry immediately if this is not possible, we will tell you who is dealing with your enquiry and update you regularly on their progress;
• The faculty will provide a private area where we can discuss any confidential enquiry;
• We will tell you how you can give us your views on the services we provide;
• Further will arrange appointments with you at times you and we agree on, and tell you in good time, wherever possible, if we cannot keep an appointment;
• We will do our best to sort out any problems as quickly as possible.

• behave respectfully to our staff, students, visitors at all times;
  • provide us with any supporting documents that we ask, to allow us to give you a decision or response quickly;
  • arrive at the agreed time for appointments or let us know if you are running late;
  • tell us about any special requirements you have that may affect your dealings with us; and
  • tell us if you think we are not keeping our promises or if you think we could make our promises clearer.

Study advisory

Study Advisor provides information, advice and guidance for prospective and current students on a wide range of study problems and personal study-related issues.

 Contact the Study Advisor if you have any questions or problems concerning: 

• formal aspects of planning your study,
• the content and structure of the study program,
• course and examination requirements,
• graduation,
• transfer from the other university,
• dropping out of university,
• potential study delay,
• thesis-related problems

Contact the Study Advisor as soon as possible:

• if your studies are delayed due to illness or other personal circumstances
• if you are a student with a disability
• if you have a chronic illness that impedes your study progress

 The Study Advisers can also help you with other issues. Depending on the nature of the question, he will either give advice themselves or refer you to other persons or organizations.

Student union

Helping you get the most out of your time at University is at the heart of the work of our Students' Union (SP/Student Parliament). Our SP aims to provide the best possible facilities, offering opportunities to get involved in all kinds of activities and being there to support you.

Who we are

Student Parliament of Faculty of Economics and Management, is a student representative of the academic community of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra.

Student Parliament is the body that represents and defends academic and social interests of all FEM students, regardless of their gender, race, ethnic origin, language, belief, religion, political, national, social or other status.

Student Parliament FEM is the highest body representing the student community within the faculty  in negotiations with management of the faculty, management of the university, government authorities and other bodies.

We put on a wide choice of different events including themed parties, fancy dress, international nights, sports socials, and many more fun-filled nights out.

As a registered student, you will automatically become a member of the SP and be able to take advantage of all the services and facilities available. You will also be able to take part in the democratic structure of the Parliament by running for elections to represent students in Academic Senate.

Our role

• Support academic and social interests of students in FEM.
• Organize and assist in organizing of extracurricular activities.
• Take into account the requirements of students and facilitate their enforcement.
• Represent students in Academic Senate of FEM for strategic decision making.
• Actively participate in allocating students in university accommodation.

What to expect been in our community

• Discussion and resolve problems during your university stay.
• Value your comments and complaints while protecting and defending your rights in accordance with competences of SP FEM.
• Organize and participate in student petition.

The SUA support equal opportunity rights and equipped with disable access. Wheelchair access is available throughout the faculty premises. PC adapted cabinets with adjustable tables and information terminals are available in faculty. Further auditorium is equipped with induction loop for the hearing impaired.

Harassment or bullying may involve apparently insignificant acts which, cumulatively create an intimidating environment, that undermines the integrity or dignity of the individual. Unacceptable behaviour ranges from violence and threats to ignoring people.

All reported incidents will be taken seriously and could provide grounds for disciplinary action that may lead to dismissal or expulsion from the University.
