Objectives and learning outcomes of the course unit:
To teach students methods of rational problem solving connected with processes of human resource management, creation and management of organization systems, decision making and control processes in management. The student will therefore understand the issues connected with all the managerial functions in the business and will be able to algorithmically solve them. After completing the course the student should be able to identify, analyse and apply the knowledge gained from studying management to solve business issues connected with managerial functions.
Course contents:
The subject is being taught at universities with economic and managerial focus. It is closely connected with subjects like human resource management, communication, as well as economic theory. The objective of the subject is to familiarize students with current issues from the managerial environment from theoretical as well as practical point of view. The students will become familiar with the representatives who considerably enriched knowledge of management and the practises which can be applied nowadays will be pointed out. The students will become familiar also with the creation of the organization system. They will get information about the business itself. Great emphasis is put on the questions of business running from the organizational point of view. The environment where companies work is defined. Students will become familiar with theories and processes of decision making. They will gain knowledge about issues connected with managing subordinates in managerial situations. They will also gain knowledge from the area of evaluation of subordinates’ performance. Requirements for a successful manager will also be defined. Throughout this subject the student gains knowledge about the importance of control in the process of management and about the ways of its realization.
